Internships

Each semester, my office offers internships for college students to gain a first-hand experience of the legislative process while serving the constituents of Indiana's Fourth Congressional District. Please find the information below for internships in both the Washington, DC office and the Danville, Indiana District Office.

Washington, DC Internship

In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Internships in the DC office offer a paid, invaluable opportunity to experience the legislative process hands on through a variety of different responsibilities. These include speaking with constituents over the phone, processing and drafting responses to correspondence, providing tours of the U.S. Capitol, conducting legislative research for the Member and legislative staff, assisting communications staff with press releases and social media, attending hearings and briefings for senior staff, and running errands to support the staff as needed. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session.
