Congressman Baird Announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition Winner

Congressman Jim Baird (R-IN-04) today announced Catherine Caes, a student at Bethesda Christian School in Hendricks County, as the 2019 4th District Congressional Art Competition winner for her artwork, Ancient Beauty.

“I am pleased to congratulate Catherine on winning the 2019 Congressional Art Competition. Her creativity demonstrates what this competition is all about, and I'm proud to showcase her artwork in our nation’s capital,” said Congressman Baird. “I also want to congratulate all of the participants who submitted entries this year. We have some tremendously talented students across the 4th District and it was a privilege to see their work.”

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

All entries for the Congressional Art Competition must be original in concept, design and execution, and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Entries may be paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography. For more information and qualification guidelines, please click here.
