Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) released the following statement offering his condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Fred Fislar of the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department after he was killed in the line of duty on Monday evening.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of Deputy Fislar’s passing while serving his community and assisting a motorist in distress,” said Rep. Baird. “Fred Fislar was a man of immense courage, serving our country as a law enforcement officer and U.S. Marine.
