Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) released the following statement thanking Congressman Greg Pence (IN-06) for his service on behalf of the people of Indiana in the wake of his retirement announcement. Rep. Pence was first elected to Congress in 2018, serving in the same seat once occupied by his brother, former Vice President and Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence.

“Rep. Pence has been a courageous legislator and great friend during his time in Washington,” said Rep. Baird. “We have collaborated on dozens of bills to improve the lives of Hoosiers, including expanding rural broadband access and allowing Federal State Department employees to report government waste. I want to thank Greg and the entire Pence family for their service to Indiana and the entire country. His presence will be sorely missed in Washington.”
