Today, Congressman Jim Baird (IN-04) issued the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. United States:

“I applaud the U.S. Supreme Court for its decision in Trump v. United States affirming that presidents have immunity for official acts. Prosecutors in Biden’s Department of Justice have upended the rule of law to go after President Biden’s political opponent ahead of the election in a desperate attempt to cling to power. Today’s decision is a win for President Trump and the rule of law and is a blow to the unconstitutional lawfare and the Biden Administration’s weaponization of our justice system.”
