Surplus Books Program
At all times, the Library of Congress has books not needed for the Library's own use available for Members of Congress to donate to qualifying organizations in their districts.
Eligible organizations must be located in the United States and fall into one of the below categories:
- Full time, tax-supported or nonprofit educational institution: school, school system, college, university, museum, or public library.
- Agency of local, state, or federal government.
- Nonprofit institution or organization that has tax-exempt status under the provisions of section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (see 41 CFR 101-44.2017 (a) (17))
Books consist of a wide range of genres, including children's books, fiction, non-fiction, text books, and more.
Congressman Baird will be participating in the Surplus Books Program during the 116th Congress and encourages interested organizations to fill out the application here and mail to the Danville District Office (355 S. Washington St., Suite 210, Danville, IN 46122) or fax to 202-226-0544.
